COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

CAMP PROCEDURES

There are several orders from the State of Georgia that we MUST comply with being a camp venue. Please help us comply with these orders:

  • At this time, class size is limited to 12 students in each of our classrooms to allow for social distancing (two students at opposite ends of our lab tables). These numbers may change as the pandemic situation changes.
  • Please DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO CAMP if, within the past 14 days, they:
    • have been diagnosed with COVID-19
    • have exhibited symptoms of COVID-19
    • have been in contact with a person that has or is suspected to have COVID-19
    • someone in your household is awaiting COVID-19 testing results due to potential exposure (this does not apply to antibody testing)
  • Parents MUST REMAIN IN THEIR CARS during drop-off and pick up. Parents and other visitors are not allowed inside the Science Center or STEM Lab.
  • Camp for ages 5-8: A masked Team Member will be outside at the drop-off station in front of our ScienceCenter (suite 5 next to Bambinelli's) with a roster and health survey during drop-off (8:00am-9:00am).
  • Camp for ages 8-11: A masked Team Member will be outside at the drop-off station in front of our STEM Lab (suite 21, up the sidewalk from our Science Center) with a roster and health survey during drop-off (8:00am-9:00am).
  • Temperature and wellness screenings will be conducted for campers entering our facility.
    • Temperature will be taken for each camper using a no-touch digital forehead thermometer. To enter our camp facility, temperatures must be below 100.4°F (without fever-reducing medication), and the answers to health survey questions (below) must be a “no.”
    • Campers exhibiting a temperature greater than 100.4°F, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, or other respiratory symptoms during drop-off will not be admitted into our facility. Campers developing these symptoms throughout the day will be immediately sent home.
  • Upon entering, campers will be instructed to immediately wash their hands well with soap and water.
  • Hand sanitizer is available for their use throughout the day.
  • Before leaving, campers will be instructed to wash their hands well with soap and water.
  • Disposable masks are available for their use if they would like to wear one. We are not requiring that masks be worn during camp, as we have several students with hearing impairment or sensory sensitivities. If the state mandates the use of masks, we will require everyone to wear masks.
  • Campers must be picked up at the same location where they were dropped off (ages 5-8 – ScienceCenter; ages 8-11 – STEM Lab). PLEASE STAY IN YOUR CAR AT PICK UP. We will come out to you.
  • Online camp options are available for parents concerned about in-person camps.
