GIRL SCOUT BOOK DRIVE
Nov 1 – Dec 31
Help us support Little Free Libraries! Each Girl Scout that brings five books to our drop-off box at Center Discover Science (2500 Old Alabama Rd, suite 5, Roswell) can pick up a Book Drive Fun Patch. Drop off is non-contact, and the honor system will be used as the girls collect their patch at the drop-off box. All books (kid, teens and adult books) are welcome to be donated to our Little Free Libraries.
REPTILE SCIENCE (Daisies, Brownies and Juniors) – IN-PERSON WORKSHOP
Monday, November 2 – 3:30-5:00pm
Girl Scouts study the differences between venomous and non-venomous snakes, investigate the anatomy of a preserved snake and turtle, and watch the behavior of our resident aquatic turtles. Girls earn a Reptiles Fun Patch. Fun patch is included in registration fee.

BIRD BIOLOGY (Juniors) – IN-PERSON WORKSHOP
Wednesday, November 11 – 3:30-5:00pm
Girl Scouts learn about birds and avian behavior, as well as practice their woodworking skills as they build their own bluebird house. Girl Scouts earn their Junior Animal Habitats Badge. Badge is included in registration fee.
Space is very limited for this workshop (only 5 birdhouse kits remain).

COVID-19 AWARENESS (Daisies, Brownies and Juniors) – IN-PERSON WORKSHOP
Monday, November 16 – 3:30-5:00pm
Girl Scouts learn the science of viruses, how they spread, how our body protects itself from pathogens, and behaviors that help reduce the spread of germs, including the COVID-19 virus. Girl Scouts earn a Coronavirus Awareness fun patch. Fun patch is included in registration fee.

GEODE LAB (Daisies, Brownies and Juniors) – IN-PERSON WORKSHOP
Tuesday, November 17 – 3:30-5:00pm
Girl Scouts become geologists as they investigate rocks and minerals and how they are formed, and crack open their own geode to discover the crystals inside. Girls earn a Rocks and Minerals Fun Patch. Fun patch is included in registration fee.

SLIME STORE (Daisies) - IN-PERSON WORKSHOP
Monday, November 30 – 3:30-5:00pm
Daisies use their creative entrepreneurial skills as they redesign and test variations of slime, learn how to market their favorite product and pitch their business idea to friends. Daisies earn their Toy Business Designer Badge, and Brownies receive a Slime Fun Patch. Badge and fun patch are included in registration fee.

SPA SCIENCE (Juniors) - IN-PERSON WORKSHOP

In this workshop, Girl Scouts experiment with chemistry to design, create, and test new bath products. Juniors earn their Product Designer Badge. Badge is included in registration fee.

FIRST AID (Brownies and Juniors) – IN-PERSON WORKSHOP
Monday, December 7 – 3:30-5:00pm
Brownies and Juniors learn how to prevent and treat minor injuries, understand in the importance of hand washing, learn the first steps in helping someone in need, and talk about the parts of a first aid kit and how they work so they can make their own at home to complete requirements for their First Aid Badge. We provide the supplies for the first aid kits! Badge is included in registration fee.

Girl Scouts explore the various careers in nursing and the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in the medical field. We discuss responsibilities of various careers, what it is like day-to-day, and how to get there. Girl Scouts complete requirements for their STEM Career Exploration Badge. Badge is included in registration fee.

Girl Scouts incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math into their holiday crafting as we make custom polymer gift tags, 3D print snowflake ornaments, and create crystallized snowflakes to earn a STEAM Fun Patch. Fun patch is included in registration fee.
