Saturday Science Workshops

Your kids are invited to join us for our Saturday Science Workshops. Themes range across all areas of STEM, and include marine biology topics for our Marine-Biologists-In-Training (Jr Scientists Dive Program), as well as cover some requirements needed for Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA badges. SCIENCE OF FISH

Saturday, January 18

Ages 6-10

Kids learn about reef fish identification and behavior as we investigate the anatomy and adaptations of real (living and non-living) fish.

FISH ANATOMY AND DISSECTION

Saturday, January 18 

3:00-5:00pm
Ages 9-15
In this lab, we investigate the external and internal anatomy of bony fishes to learn about their biology and adaptations. Students do not have to participate in dissections if they prefer not to.

SCIENCE OF THE SENSES

Ages 6-10

Kids conduct fun sensing experiments, and look at a real mammalian brain to learn how their brain and senses work together to interpret the world around them.

INTRO TO SCIENTIFIC DIVING

3:00-4:30pm
Ages 9-15
Students learn the differences between recreational scuba diving and scientific diving, simulate underwater communication and research techniques, and explore scientific gear used to conduct underwater research.
