Little kids are natural scientists! Our Young Explorers (ages 3-5 and an adult partner) use lab tools to conduct science experiments, explore nature and create science-based art. In addition to introducing scientific concepts, we also work on fine motor skills, encourage sensory play and help develop critical thinking skills through our hands-on experiments and activities. Fun for kids and adults! At least one adult partner must attend.
Ages 3-5
Saturdays - 10:00-10:45am
Location: Discover Science Center - Peachtree City
$15/kid (10% sibling discount)

JANUARY/FEBRUARY - YOUNG DOCTORS
Monday, January 30 - 10:00-10:45am
Today, we investigate different types of muscles under a microscope and dissect a chicken wing to see how our muscles and bones work together to help us move.
Monday, February 6 - 10:00-10:45am
Kids make a model of blood to see the different parts and how each part is important to our circulatory system.
Monday, February 13 - 10:00-10:45am
We model what happens in our bodies as we take in food, use up the nutrients and even what happens to the stuff we cannot digest.
Monday, February 27 - 10:00-10:45am
This week we investigate our nervous system and how our brain interprets the world around us.
MARCH - YOUNG BOTANIST
SEEDS
Monday, March 6- 10:00-10:45am
We explore the science of seeds as we look at different types and plant seeds to create a starter garden.
PLANTS
Monday, March 13– 10:00-10:45am
Today, we investigate parts of plants with a magnifying glass to see how they are similar and different.
FRUIT DISSECTIONS
Monday, March 27 – 10:00-10:45am
Kids compare the outside and inside of fruits to investigate how they grow and where the seeds are.
APRIL - YOUNG METEOROLOGIST
TEMPERATURE
Monday, April 10- 10:00-10:45am
This week we introduce tools scientist use to measure the weather and practice using thermometers to measure temperature.
CLOUDS
Monday, April 17- 10:00-10:45am
We explore the different types of clouds and what they mean for coming weather.
RAIN AND SNOW
Monday, April 24- 10:00-10:45am
Kids make a model of the water cycle to investigate how rain and other types of precipitation are formed and how water can move through liquid, gas and solid phases.
Enjoy a night out while your kids spend the evening doing fun science activities and experiments.
VALENTINE'S ENGINEERING
Saturday, February 11 - 6:00-9:00pm
Tonight we use Valentines candy and supplies to explore the engineering design process. Kids design, build and test their solutions to engineering challenges.
