Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during your birthday parties?
The following is an example of a timeline for party activities for a 12-2pm party (and a 3-5pm party) where only cake is being served (no other food). Note, times are approximate and will vary with age and number of kids.

  • 11:45am (2:45pm) – Birthday family arrival and set up
  • 12:00pm (3:00pm) – Guest arrival, kids feed turtles or fish as they await other guests
  • 12:15pm (3:15pm) – Introductions and science activities begin
  • 1:40pm (4:40pm) – Cake
  • 2:00pm (5:00pm) – Guest departure

If pizza or other food is being served at a 12-2pm party, kids usually eat from 12:15-12:30 and we reduce the time for science activities by 15 minutes, but still have cake at the end. If it is a 3-5pm party, we finish the science activities at 4:30, and kids eat at the end of the party.

We have never been to your location. How is the room set up? Do you have photos?
There are a couple of photos posted above. We set up a table for food, a long table where the kids will eat, and another long table where the kids will do the science activities. There is a shelf where the kids can leave gifts, and another that can be used for goodie bags and additional food, if necessary. You will have exclusive use of our center.

My kid is turning 5 years old. Is it ok that some of their friends will only be 4 years old?
Yes, 4-year olds can participate in the science activities, however, we recommend the Mad Science theme for that age group based on the activities.

What is the maximum number of kids that can participate?

We recommend no more than 20 kids for a party, especially if guests are younger than 7 years old.

How far ahead do I have to reserve a party time?
We recommend booking your birthday party reservation at least 4-6 weeks in advance. We sometimes have party times available 2-4 weeks in advance.

How do I know what dates are available for a birthday party?
Click the Pay Party Deposit Here link and check the dates in the "select an option" drop down menu, or call our office (770 641-9336) for availability of party dates and times.

How do I reserve a party time?
Party times are confirmed on our calendar once the 50% non-refundable deposit is processed either online on our website here or over the phone (770 641-9336). Before paying a deposit online, please confirm that your date of interest is available by calling our office.

We are interested in a specific party time, but still need to talk about it. Can we reserve the time, but confirm later?
Party times are not confirmed on our calendar until the 50% non-refundable deposit is processed either online on our website here or over the phone (770 641-9336). As a courtesy, we will put a 42-hour hold on a party time. If the deposit is not paid within 24 hours for a hold request, that party time may be offered to another family.

Do we have to decide on a party theme now?
No. If you need more time to decide which party theme you would like, you can let us know at least one week ahead of your party date.

Do you allow outside food?
Yes, you are welcome to bring any food you would like. We will have a table set up with a tablecloth and balloons where you can set up any food and cake.

Where should we order pizza?
If you are planning on ordering pizza, there is a pizza place right next to us (Bambinelli's  770 696-4414), but Doubles Pizza  (770 642-1818) and Papa John's  (770 751-9022) also deliver here (our address is 2500 Old Alabama Rd, Suite 5, Roswell 30076).

What time should we have food delivered?
For a 12-2pm party, we recommend food be delivered at 12pm so it is ready for the kids to eat at 12:15pm. For a 3-5pm party, parents usually have food delivered at 4:15 so the kids can eat at 4:30pm. We always save cake for the last 20 minutes of the party.

Do you have a freezer large enough for an ice cream cake?
No. If you are ordering pizza from the restaurant next door (Bambinelli’s), you may ask them if they would allow you to keep your ice cream cake in their freezer during the party. Their phone number is 770 696-4414 if you want to ask.

Do you permit alcohol?
No, we do not allow alcohol at our birthday parties due to liability reasons.

Do we bring paper plates and napkins?
Yes, we will have tablecloths and balloons set up on the food table and where the kids will eat. You will bring any paper plates, napkins, plasticware, cups that will be needed based on the food you bring.

How early can we arrive before the party to set up?
The center will be ready for your arrival 15 minutes before the start of the party.

Does the birthday kid count toward the 12 kids in the cost of the party?
Yes, all kids participating in the science activities count toward the 12 kids in the cost of the party. Each additional participating guest will be $8. We will settle up with the balance at the end of the party.

What is the maximum number of kids allowed for a party?
Although our center can accommodate more than 24 kids, we recommend no more than 24 kids attending the party. For parties for 5-6 year olds, a maximum of 20 kids is recommended.

What about younger siblings?
Younger siblings are welcome to participate in the science activities. All kids participating in the science activities count toward the 12 kids in the cost of the party. Each additional participating guest will be $8. If they do not participate in the science activities, they will not be counted toward the party total. We also have LEGOs, games, books and other things they are welcome to play with during the party if they wish.

Can parents drop their kids off for the party or do they have to stay?
Parents are welcome to stay for the party, or they can drop off the kids and pick up at the end of the party. If they are dropping off, we ask that they leave their name and phone number in case we need to get in touch with them during the party.

What color are your table cloths?
We will have black table cloths on the food table and on the tables where the kids will eat.

What color are the balloons you provide?
We typically coordinate balloon colors with the party theme (slime green, yellow, silver and orange for the Mad Science, blue, green and silver for Marine Biology, for example). If you have a specific color preference, please let us know a week in advance to ensure we have the color you want.

Can we set up a piñata?
Piñatas can not easily be set up at our location as there is no stable means to hang it.

When do we pay the balance of the party?
The remaining balance ($150) and any charges for additional participants ($8 for each additional participants if more than 12 participants) will be settled at the end of the party.
