Jr Scientists Dive Programs are a unique opportunity for 8-18 year olds interested in marine biology and the ocean. Our goal is to engage kids interested in the ocean through science/STEM education, scuba training and hands-on experiences. Students participate in monthly Marine Science Workshops, Dive Clinics and Scuba Camps to expand their knowledge about marine science and conservation, learn new scientific and research methods, practice neutral buoyancy skills, and develop good diving habits.
We partner with SeaVentures/Diventures Aquatics Center to offer Kids' Scuba Camps and Scientific Diver Programs.

Kids learn to dive as they study the science of scuba diving, practice basic snorkeling and scuba skills, conduct lab experiments and learn about exploring the ocean. Participants complete one snorkeling session, five scuba sessions, and six science labs during this 3-day camp. Requirements for the SSI Scuba Ranger Development Course are completed during the pool sessions of this camp
.
Scuba Rangers work toward their Master Scuba Ranger certificate as they spend a day working on their diving skills and completing diving specialties. Divers complete two Scuba Rangers Specialties each day to earn their Intermediate, Advanced and/or Master Ranger certificate. We customize each day of camp based on the specific specialties needed by each diver so they are not repeating classes they have already completed.
Young Divers continue their scuba training as they review basic scuba and safety skills, learn new skills, including Search, Navigation, Rescue and Photography skills, as well as learn the biology of reef organisms, including jellyfish, squid, fish and sharks. Kids have the opportunity to investigate real (but preserved) marine specimens and dissect clams and squid, if they wish.
Master Scuba Rangers and Master Seal Team divers learn how to collect scientific data and measure corals underwater, while building on their scuba skills and confidence while diving. This is the introductory course for our Ocean Explorers Program where kids learn scientific diving skills Marine Biologists use to study coral reefs.
Ocean Explorers practice their scuba skills as they learn how Scientific Divers collect research samples, conduct surveys, clean reef habitats, build underwater structures and more as they complete their Ocean Explorer Specialties.
Our Discover Scientific Diving Course is designed for young divers wanting to learn about being a Marine Biologist as they practice skills related to conducting underwater research. Buoyancy, breathing, buddy skills and safety skills are practiced while performing basic scientific tasks. Divers work individually (but diving with a buddy) and work together with a buddy to perform scientific skills underwater, including measuring samples and recording data. This is the introductory course to our Jr Scientists Dive Program.
